  • Project Spotlight: New Construction Rescue - Bella Vista, Philadelphia

    This new construction project in Bella Vista, Philadelphia, showcases our ability to step in, take control, and deliver high-quality results under challenging circumstances. Originally brought in by the lenders after the original developers defaulted on the loan, we transformed the four unfinished townhomes into beautifully finished properties ready for market.


    Initial Scope:

    We were initially hired to handle all the trim and doors throughout the four homes. This included installing high-quality finishes to bring a polished and cohesive look to each property.


    Expanded Role:

    As the project progressed, our scope quickly expanded to include:


    • Bathrooms: Installation of 12 full bathrooms and 4 powder rooms, all featuring modern fixtures and elegant tile work.


    • Kitchens: We completed 4 custom kitchens, each designed with functionality and style in mind to appeal to potential buyers.


    • Entertainment Centers: We built 4 custom entertainment units, adding a unique and luxurious touch to the living spaces.


    • Decks: Installation of 8 Azek decks across the properties, providing durable and low-maintenance outdoor living spaces.


    Project Management:

    Recognizing the need for streamlined coordination to meet deadlines and maintain quality, we stepped in to offer full project management services. From coordinating trades to overseeing timelines, we ensured that every aspect of the construction process ran smoothly and efficiently.


    Final Results:

    By completing these townhomes to the highest standards, we helped the lenders successfully market and sell all four properties. This allowed them to recoup their investment and ensured the homes were move-in ready for their new owners.

  • Project Spotlight: Whole Home Remodel - Modern Condo Transformation

    This project showcases the transformation of a 1990s condo into a modern, stylish, and functional living space. Our team took on a full-scale remodel, handling everything from design to completion.


    Bathrooms:

    We reimagined both bathrooms with sleek, contemporary designs.


    • Master Bathroom: A luxurious curbless shower with a built-in bench offers a seamless, spa-like experience.


    • Hall Bathroom: To make the most of the space, we used large-format 24x48 porcelain tiles laid at a 45-degree angle from top to bottom, creating a striking visual effect.


    Kitchen:

    The outdated kitchen was completely transformed into a European-inspired modern space. We removed partition walls to create an open-concept layout, then installed two-tone cabinets for a sleek, contemporary aesthetic. The updated design seamlessly blends functionality and style, bringing the condo up to modern standards.


    Custom Closets:

    We designed and built four custom closets, including a walk-in closet and a pantry, maximizing storage and organization throughout the unit.


    Flooring:

    One of the most challenging aspects of this project was addressing the uneven concrete subfloor, which had a pre-poured, zig-zag pattern. To create a smooth and level surface, we applied a skim coat over the entire condo. This even foundation allowed us to install wide plank white oak engineered wood, giving the space a clean and timeless look that aligns with today’s trends.


    This whole home remodel is a testament to our commitment to detail, design, and craftsmanship. The result is a stunning, functional, and modernized space that perfectly suits the homeowner’s lifestyle.

CHELTENHAM

  • Project Spotlight: 100-Year-Old Home Renovation - Historic Mt. Airy, Philadelphia

    This century-old home in Mt. Airy, Philadelphia, underwent a stunning transformation that honored its historical charm while addressing critical structural and design updates.


    Structural Repairs:

    We began the project by addressing significant structural challenges. Rusted I-beams required reinforcement, which we achieved by adding new footings and columns to correct a developing load issue across the main beams.


    Flooring Renovation:

    Next, we removed the existing flooring to access and repair the subfloor and framing below. Tapered sleepers were glued and screwed into place to level the surface, creating a stable base for a new subfloor. This was topped with beautiful maple hardwood flooring, carefully matched to the new stair treads for a cohesive look.


    Spiral Staircase Restoration:

    The spiral staircase was rebuilt and replaced, complete with replicated original bracket work and newel drops. This attention to detail ensured the staircase retained its historical character while being fully functional and safe.


    Living Room Design:

    The highlight of this project was the design of the immaculate living room. The homeowner, inspired by European museums, shared pictures of their favorite fireplaces and wainscoting. Collaborating closely with them over several months, we created a bespoke design blending these influences.

     • Fireplace & Wainscoting: The fireplace mantel is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece, featuring custom fluted pilasters and authentic wainscoting that brings European elegance into the space. The surround hearth boasts a mitered subway tile pattern, set flush with the new floor for a seamless transition.

     • Lighting Design: Great care was taken to enhance the room’s ambiance with thoughtfully designed lighting. Six replica candelabras and pin-spot lighting highlight the woodwork and artwork, while a 35-pound solid brass chandelier serves as a stunning centerpiece.


    Custom Woodwork & Finishes:

    Throughout the first floor, we installed 6-inch by 2-inch casing joined with mortise and tenon techniques for durability and authenticity. Ornate hinges added a beautiful finishing touch to the woodwork.


    French Door Restoration:

    The home’s 100-year-old French doors were carefully restored and adjusted to function and look like new, preserving their historical charm while integrating them into the refreshed design.


    Thoughtful Details:

    To tie the space together, we incorporated brass-themed accents, including electrical plates and air returns, creating a cohesive and elegant look.


    This project was a true labor of love, combining meticulous craftsmanship with thoughtful design to breathe new life into this historic home. The result is a stunning blend of preserved history and modern functionality that will be cherished for generations to come.

    Sturdy Roof Support:

    The main roof framing was supported by striking 6x10 dimension lumber beams, adding both durability and a touch of rustic elegance to the home’s exterior.


    Diamond Coat Siding:

    The front facade received a complete makeover with Diamond Coat board-and-batten siding. This stylish and durable choice elevated the home’s curb appeal while ensuring long-lasting protection against the elements.


    New Roof Installation:

    We installed a brand-new roof, further enhancing the home’s exterior while providing superior insulation and weatherproofing.


    Future Deck and Handrail Updates:

    While the original deck and handrails remain intact for now, they are planned for replacement in the next phase of this project, promising even more upgrades to come.

SOCIETY HILL

  • Project Spotlight: Historical Renovation - Society Hill, Philadelphia

    This 1800s home in the historic district of Society Hill, Philadelphia, offered the perfect opportunity to blend meticulous restoration with thoughtful modernization. Our mission was to restore this timeless residence to its original glory while introducing functional, luxurious updates that would stand the test of time.


    Structural Repairs:

    We began with a complex structural repair to address deflections caused by the over-weighted original brick hearths.

     • To eliminate the sagging floors on both levels we cut the traditional mortise and tenon joinery that was beginning to fail.  We strategically jacked up the floors from the basement to the third floor, leveling them with precision. The joists were then secured with modern joist hangers for lasting stability.


    Third-Floor Addition and Master Suite Transformation:

    After securing approval from the historical society, we added a third-floor walk-in closet, blending seamlessly with the home’s original architecture.

     • The third floor, once one large bedroom and a small one with no bath, was completely transformed into a luxurious master suite. The smaller bedroom was reimagined as a stunning bathroom, while the new addition provided a spacious walk-in closet.

     • To maintain authenticity, we sourced 12-inch wide pine boards to match the flooring on the lower two levels, ensuring continuity in design.

    Custom Details:

    The master bathroom is a showpiece of craftsmanship, featuring custom elements created on-site:

     • A bespoke vanity built to complement the space perfectly.

     • Tub panels and pullout closet panels that were carefully matched to the vanity, creating a cohesive and elegant look.


    Restoration and Finishes:

    The home’s original woodwork, some of it over 200 years old, was meticulously restored to look brand new while maintaining its historical character. Additionally, we repaired all the cracked plaster throughout the home, ensuring the walls were as flawless as they were when the house was first built.


    A Blend of History and Modern Comfort:

    This renovation highlights the perfect balance between preserving history and introducing modern luxury. The careful restoration of original elements and the addition of functional, well-integrated spaces have transformed this home into a timeless masterpiece.


    By respecting the integrity of this 1800s Society Hill treasure and enhancing it with contemporary conveniences, we have ensured this home will be cherished for generations to come.

    This complete remodel of a beautiful home in Washington Crossing, PA, showcases how thoughtful upgrades and meticulous craftsmanship can breathe new life into a property.      • A new architectural shingled roof and Hardie siding ensure durability and curb appeal.

     • Azek trim was installed for a clean, polished finish, complemented by Dutch colonial porch brackets that enhance the home’s classic aesthetic.

     • Outdoor living was a major focus of this project. We added 3 decks: one in the backyard for family gatherings and another off the side for a more intimate setting. Additionally, we built a stunning frontyard deck that extends right up to the Delaware River, offering breathtaking views and a serene place to relax.


    Interior Upgrades:

    We completely transformed the interior to bring the home up to modern standards.

     • The original plaster walls were removed and replaced with new drywall, providing a smooth and flawless finish throughout the house.

     • A brand-new kitchen became the centerpiece of the remodel, with updated cabinetry, countertops, and fixtures that marry style and functionality.


    Powder Room Innovation:

    We utilized the space under the main staircase to create a charming and efficient powder room.

     • To maximize comfort in the compact space, we dropped the floor slightly and installed a corner sink with exposed chrome plumbing for a sleek, minimalist look.

     • This small addition demonstrates how smart design can turn even the tightest spaces into functional and visually appealing areas.


    System Overhaul:

    The entire plumbing and electrical systems were replaced, bringing the home up to code and ensuring safety, efficiency, and reliability for the future.
